Van de Wouw won medalist in the sprint race in the thrilling finale

Hetty van de Wouw started the individual sprint race at the WK race in Deense Ballerup. It was only needed once in the semi-finals. We are happy about the medal award.

In the semi-final she presented Sophie Capewell, a strong British teenager. The two suffered just three years ago when they took part in the Paris Olympics. The Netherlands won all three games 2-0 against the British. The day ended at 7.24pm when I arrived at the Ballerup playground.

“Maar ik heb nu nog niks,” said Van de Wouw in the Kwart final.

“I cared about her so much that I didn't have the best four hours.” In qualifying for the sprint race, Capewell (Tweede) was two seconds in Brabantse.

But the gold was also for Katy Marchant, Van de Wouw's daughter, in the Kwart final. En Marchant is most interested in recognizing more in Van de Wouw. “Zij was smarter, but I was tactically upset.”
