Walt Disney World announces extended closures and ticket refunds due to Hurricane Milton

As Hurricane Milton approaches Central Florida, Walt Disney World Resort has issued several new updates regarding closures and operational changes to ensure the safety of Guests and Cast Members.

Because the storm will bring strong winds, heavy rainfall and possible tornadoes, the resort is taking additional precautionary measures, including extended closures on Thursday, October 10th.

Important updates from Walt Disney World

Theme parks and Disney Springs will remain closed on Thursday, October 10th

Walt Disney World and Disney Springs theme parks will remain closed throughout Thursday, October 10, as Hurricane Milton is expected to move across Central Florida. This closure affects all four major parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Canceled

The Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party scheduled for Thursday, October 10th has been canceled. Guests who purchased tickets to the event will receive an automatic refund.

Adjustments to the expiration date of multi-day tickets

For guests with partially used multi-day tickets, Walt Disney World is making accommodations by extending ticket expiration dates. These tickets now expire on October 11, 2025.

Parking garages at Disney Springs closed

Parking garages at Disney Springs will close at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, to coincide with the early closure of the shopping and entertainment district. Garages will remain unavailable during the storm and will not reopen until it is safe to do so.

Minnie Van service temporarily suspended

Minnie Van service will be temporarily unavailable starting Wednesday, October 9th at 4:00 p.m. This suspension will remain in effect until after the storm and service will resume when it is safe to do so.

Limited Mears taxi service available

While other transportation services are suspended, limited Mears Taxi service remains available to Walt Disney World Resort guests who may need transportation during the storm. Guests are advised to plan accordingly as service availability may be limited.

Preparing for Hurricane Milton at Walt Disney World

As Hurricane Milton approaches, Walt Disney World has already implemented early park closures for Wednesday, October 9th: Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios will close at 1:00 p.m., Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Disney Springs will close at 2:00 p.m .

Because the storm is expected to bring torrential rain, high winds and flooding, all guests at Walt Disney World Resort should follow official guidance and remain indoors during the peak of the storm. Guests staying at Disney resort hotels will have Cast Members on hand to provide assistance and ensure guest safety.
