“We are winning,” Netanyahu says, warning Iran that there is no place Israel cannot reach

“There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach, and that applies to the entire Middle East,” Netanyahu said at the UN General Assembly.

“We are winning,” he declared, showing a card he called a “curse” of Iranian influence and another he called a blessing.

Netanyahu also called for an end to “appeasement” of Iran. Everything must be done to ensure that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons, the Israeli head of state added.

A small group of anti-government protesters gathered outside the luxury Loews Regency hotel on Park Avenue.Benjamin Netanyahu Protesters gathered across the street. Some waved Israeli flags, others held signs depicting Netanyahu's face with a red handprint.

One protester, Yehuda Cohen, 55, condemned Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations.

“While there is an intense war going on in Israel, he is preoccupied with himself… he thinks he is the great talker, he is going to save Israel by talking, he is actually destroying Israel. He is responsible for the events of October 7th,” Cohen said.

“He has to put everything aside, end the war and make a hostage deal. I want my son to come home again. I sent my son to the army so he could protect Israel. On October 7th, they were outnumbered, he was neglected and kidnapped…The Israeli government does nothing for a hostage deal, it does everything to prevent a hostage deal,” Cohen added.

Netanyahu calls for a peace agreement with Saudi Arabia

Netanyahu also stressed the need to reach a peace agreement with Saudi Arabia, citing the experience of the Abraham Accords.

“I tell you what a blessing such a peace with Saudi Arabia would bring – it would be a boon to the security and economy of our two countries, it would boost trade and tourism throughout the region, it would help “transform the Middle East into a global juggernaut,” he said.

“Such a peace would certainly be a real turning point in history: it would usher in a historic reconciliation between the Arab world and Israel, between Islam and Judaism, between Mecca and Jerusalem,” the Israeli leader said.

“One of the best ways to thwart Iran’s nefarious plans is to achieve peace,” he added.
