Windy today, windy and colder tonight and tomorrow

LAS VEGAS – This morning will start in the 60s with a 10-20 mph breeze. The afternoon will deliver gusts of 30 mph from the southwest, highs in the low 80s and mostly sunny skies. Winds will become even stronger tonight as a cold front moves through, bringing gusts of 35 to 40 mph from the northwest as temperatures drop into the 50s. There is a 10% chance of showers in Las Vegas this evening, but most of the moisture will be focused on Utah, making the chance 70% in Mesquite and 90% in St. George, Utah. Friday morning, a northerly wind will be 25-35 mph and temperatures will be in the upper 50s. Friday afternoon, a northerly wind will be 20-30 mph and highs will be in the upper 60s, although skies look mostly sunny. North winds will be 15 to 25 mph late Friday evening and Saturday morning, making lows in the 50s feel even colder. On Saturday, gusts will drop from 25 mph in the morning to 15 mph in the afternoon, and sunshine will push afternoon highs into the low 70s. Saturday evening will be calm and clear and cool, with lows in the low 50s by sunrise Sunday. Sunday looks great: sunshine with afternoon highs in the mid-70s and calm conditions. Next week we will warm back up to the low 80s, although nights and early mornings will remain chilly in the upper 50s to near 60°.
