With Alarmo you can touch it: Nintendo's high-tech alarm clock turns waking up into a game

Wake up, you girls. The new Nintendo alarm clock has just been released. Yes, we have new Nintendo hardware for 2024. Maybe not what you or anyone expected. It is a smart alarm clock called Alarm. Oh, it was just announced that it's going on sale today. I ran to the New York Nintendo store. Let's open it up and see what it's all about. Let's go. This allows you to wake up to Nintendo sounds from various games like Mario and Zelda. OK. Let's go. There she is. Here is your power cord. Who is this little guy here? OK. We turn it on and get it going. But really quickly. What you get here is the opportunity to wake up in various immersive Nintendo themes from different games that are so full here. It is said that there is Super Mario Odyssey Zelda, Breath of the Wild Splatoon Three Four and Ring Fit Adventure. And there are different sounds you can choose from based on how you want to wake up and how you move. Well, this isn't just something that tells time. It has many smart sensors that track your sleep and know when you move in bed so that other noises wake you up better. OK. Alar. Oh. Oh, you're going crazy. OK. So we're going to twist. Oh, you push. Oh, it teaches you. It has this little Mario font. I like it. Oh, so test it. OK. It's motion detection. OK. We're in the office. I'm not in a bedroom, but I'm going to create a little cozy space to take a nap before we get to the sounds. We need to set up the sensor zone. OK? This is the best I can do with a bed, but we'll make sure it's comfortable in here. OK? No higher than 20cm above your beds. There are a lot of instructions here to make sure you put it in the right place for the sensor to work, right? Jump into bed so we can test the alarm, lie down and press the confirm button. I like how they make sure you have a good experience so it works before you actually have to wake up in the morning. So it explains that as you move around in bed, you hear more noises and characters keep appearing to wake you up until you finally get your butt out of bed. No, it's getting louder. You see, I have to move well. I'll get up, I'll get out of bed. You can't just put it to sleep. You'd better get up. OK? The first one I have to test is Zelda Breath of the Wild, which is my jam awakening to adventure. Oh, you can let Princess Zelda tell you to wake up Vocab and fight. Oh, that's stressful. OK. The first time you might just want to start with Steady mode. There are different modes. How much do you need? Help getting out of bed? Uh-Steady mode encourages you to get up within 20 minutes of the alarm. And if you don't get up within 20 minutes, there's a kind of rush state. Oh, it's so cute, little Linky in the fire. He's just Oh, I like it every time you move. You, you, you, you, you are basically learning a vocabulary book. Yes. OK. I'm just going to go through a few of these alarms so you can get a feel for what the sounds are like. Okay, I'll wake it up, it's getting louder. Oh, it's a gentle wake-up, the smoochy fairies waking you up this way. If you don't know this game, you're missing out. You can also set it to shuffle. So if you don't want to select it every day, it will simply be randomly selected for you. So you can wake up to a surprise. I like it. So 1234567 different topics from each game. You might just have sleepy noises. This might help you get comfortable. Do you want to go to bed? It sounds like you're wandering high up and hearing the nighttime noises in the forest. Yes, please. That's what's playing when you set the theme, all the font and all the chimes, all your sleepy sounds, they all change to that. They said that Animal Crossing and Mario Kart will be available for download. So this will be something that will continue to grow. They will constantly change as you can add more sounds over time. Alarma has a lot in it and that could be why it cost $100. Yes, this smart alarm clock with all its senses is perhaps more than most people would expect from an alarm clock. But that's because it has many different immersive themes and tracks how well you sleep at night. And it's also about being able to change all of these different themes and sensory movements to really get you out of bed in a different way than you might be used to. Um, so we have a lot more testing to do. I need to put this to a real sleep test. If you'd like to try Alar O, it's available to purchase for Nintendo Online customers in the US and Canada. You can also pick it up at the New York Nintendo Store while stocks last. As I did, this was just an example of the setup process and I appreciated how much it helps you make sure it's in the right place in your bedroom and you with movement or simply pressing the button can wake up. So there are many options here. Very haunting. Very sweet. I mean, who doesn't want to wake up in their bed every morning to connect? No, just me. This is a lot of fun. Um, and you know, maybe it's not the Switch, but Nintendo keeps surprising us because that's what's fun. Let us know in the comments. Out of all the different options, which game would you watch first? I'll still be playing around with some more Breath of the Wild. I think we'll let you know how it goes the more we sleep with it. Thanks for watching.
