Zach Bryan And Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia were together for just over a year before their relationship took a shocking turn.

In October 2024, Bryan released a statement on social media revealing that he and LaPaglia had separated. (The couple made their relationship public in July 2023.)

“I respect and love her with all my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and I will always thank her for that,” Bryan wrote via Instagram. “I've had an incredibly tough year personally and have had to go through some pretty bad things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us if we took different paths. I’m not perfect and never will be.”

For her part, LaPaglia explained in her own Instagram Story that she was “blindsided” by their breakup. The Barstool Sports personality quickly uploaded a YouTube video further discussing the breakup — and asking for privacy as she navigates her new normal.

“I cried for about five days,” LaPaglia said through tears. “I'm at the point where I ask myself: How can you give someone everything and love them so unconditionally through things you shouldn't do?”

The podcast host said she wanted to “heal privately” and that Bryan didn't warn her about the Instagram breakup announcement. “I wasn’t ready to do anything publicly,” she added. “I'll be fine. I'll be fine. I’m obviously very, very hurt at the moment.”

The timeline of their relationship

LaPaglia was forced to reveal the timeline of her and Bryan's relationship in August 2023 after rumors spread that their budding romance overlapped with each of her previous relationships.

They first met at the 2023 ACM Awards in May of this year – LaPaglia and Bryan were both in other relationships at the time. The following month, LaPaglia took the stage with Bryan to sing “Revival” when he played in New York. According to LaPaglia, their romance began in July 2023.

During an August 2023 episode of the “BFFs” podcast, Bryan made a brief on-screen appearance waving to LaPaglia's co-hosts Dave Portnoy And Josh Richards.

LaPaglia traveled with Bryan on his Quittin' Time Tour Throughout 2024, she was always by his side, and when he didn't have celebrity guests joining him on stage for “Revival,” the final song of the show.

The song '28'

Bryan released a song titled “28” on his album. Great American bar scene album in July 2024. The title seems to be about LaPaglia, as it begins with a reference to meeting her family in Boston, where she is from. “How lucky are we?” is also a lyric in the song, which LaPaglia has said on several occasions. She also had the saying tattooed on her.

When Bryan released his music video “Oak Island” in September 2024, LaPaglia was credited as a writer.

Bryan apologized after tweeting “Kanye > Taylor…Who's with me” in September 2024 — and LaPaglia was quick to stand up for her husband at the time.

She claimed he didn't understand “the weight of what Kanye did to Taylor” throughout her career. “He didn’t know the backstory of the Kanye/Taylor lore,” LaPaglia said on the “BFFs” podcast in October 2024.

The separation rumors

LaPaglia said she was “bearing the brunt” of all the “personal issues” Bryan went through in October 2024.

“We don’t post anything (about) each other for a week,” she said during the same “BFFs” podcast episode. “It's taken the internet by storm, but he's going through a lot of personal things.”
